The SING! Singers will be joined by special guests AJ Bridel (Kinky Boots, Anne of Green Gables) and Jeff Madden (Come From Away, Jersey Boys) to present a night full of favourite showtunes, including selections from Dear Evan Hansen, Jersey Boys, West Side Story, and more.

SING! in Concert: SING! Celebrates the Musical image

Jeff Madden is an Oakville-based singer, actor, educator, and an award-winning veteran of the Canadian Theatre industry. Most recently, Jeff appeared as ‘Kevin T. and Others’ in the Canadian cast of Come From Away (Mirvish). Previously, Jeff starred as ‘Frankie Valli’ in Jersey Boys (Dancap) for over three years in Toronto and across Australia, winning the Dora Award for Outstanding Performance.

Other Toronto credits: Forever Plaid (Starvox/Mirvish), Echoes (Andrew Seok/Fringe), Angelwalk’s I Love You Because (Dora Nomination). Elsewhere: Shaw Festival (eight seasons) Frank in Wonderful Town, Spinell in Tristan, Wee Farley in Belle Moral, Baby Face in Happy End, Homer in Floyd Collins, among many others. Selected TV: ‘Murdoch Mysteries’, ‘Mayday’, and ‘The Parker-Andersons’. Other: Jeff created his Cabaret show “My Life In Song” in 2012 and has recently created and performed a second Cabaret show, “My Life In Song – Act 2” in 2021. He has also recorded two CDs. Holding a Master of Education degree from U of T, Jeff teaches acting and singing privately and has been a part-time faculty member at Sheridan and Randolph Colleges.

Chris Tsujiuchi is a graduate of Sheridan College's Musical Theatre Performance program. Theatre credits include Box 4901, Recurring John, (Summerworks Festival), Little Shop of Horrors (Lower Ossington Theatre), and The Rocky Horror Show (Hart House Theatre). Musical Direction credits include Parade (Toronto Musical Concerts) The Last Five Years (YRG Productions), Onegin (Musical Stage Company/National Arts Centre/Arts Club Western Canada Tour), 35MM (Toronto Premiere), Any Dream Will Do (Angelwalk Theatre & Theatre Collingwood), A Misfortune (Next Stage Festival), Mickey & Judy (Toronto Fringe/Best of Fringe), and bare (Canadian Premiere/WatersEdge Productions). Chris has worked as an accompanist and teacher at Sheridan College, Ryerson University, Randolph Academy, and George Brown College. He has toured extensively with Sharron Matthews, the Nathaniel Dett Chorale, and can also be seen performing in Asian Riffing Trio (aka ART) and his own "Chris-terical" series of Cabarets.

Sarah Nairne is a Black Caribbean-Canadian Actor and Theatre Creator born and raised in the Waterloo Region which is situated on the Haldimand Tract. She’s a University of Waterloo Graduate, of their Bachelor of Arts program. She’s had the privilege to share her work as a vocalist, actor and creative on multiple stages across Canada and with theatre organizations working in artistic leadership in Ontario. Her credits include: Mirvish (Toronto): Standby in Come From Away, Canadian Premiere of The Color Purple (Neptune Theatre and the Citadel Theatre/Royal MTC co-production), Artist Mentorship Program (Black Theatre Workshop), Black and Blue Matters - Workshop (Black Theatre Workshop), Multiple Characters in ALECK BELL: A Canadian Pop-Rock Musical (Tweed & Company Theatre), Sasha in Stretchmarks (Virtu Arts) and Maddy in THE INVISIBLE (Catalyst Theatre). Sarah is so grateful to be working with such a talented group of artists and team at the SING! Festival and so excited to share space with an audience again. Tahirih Vejdani (she/her) is a Tkaronto-based artist of Persian and South Asian heritage. Her artistic practice includes working as an actor, singer, vocal instructor, music director, choral conductor, and arts administrator. Tahirih holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Regina with a double major in Vocal Performance and Music History.

Tahirih has performed with numerous choirs including The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, The Elmer Iseler Singers, Sing! Festival Singers, and the BlackCreek Festival Chorus. As a conductor she has worked with The Regent Park School of Music, Echo Women’s Choir, Toronto World Unity Choir, Florivox Choir and Univox Choir. Tahirih is also a vocal instructor at Sheridan’s Bachelor of Musical Theatre program.

As a performer she has appeared in: The Invisible – Agents of Ungentlemanly Warfare (Catalyst Theatre); HMS Pinafore, Treasure Island, The Pirates of Penzance, Elektra (Stratford Shakespeare Festival); Portia’s Julius Caesar (Shakespeare in the Ruff); The Men in White (Factory Theatre); Taming of the Shrew (Driftwood Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing (Tarragon Theatre); The Jungle Book (Young Peoples Theatre/Cleveland Playhouse Square); The Hobbit, Shrek The Musical, Honk! The Musical (Globe Theatre) Paradise Lost (Summerworks Festival). Select film/TV credits: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Kim’s Convenience, Receiver, Let it Snow, InSecurity.

In a word… multifaceted. Juno-nominated Dylan Bell is a vocalist, instrumentalist (piano, bass, guitar, percussion), composer/arranger, music director and producer/engineer. Dylan has worked with groups ranging from vocal jazz, (Cadence, Hampton Avenue, the Swingle Singers, FreePlay Duo, The Watch), to vocal pop (Retrocity, the Nylons) to eclectic jazz and world music (Autorickshaw, Ray Montford Group), to classical (Nathaniel Dett Chorale; Lara St John) to flat-out rock ‘n’ roll (Honeymoon Suite). He’s played stages across the world from his native Toronto, to Stockholm, Sweden, to Calcutta, India, and his compositions and arrangements are performed across the world from Arnprior to Zurich. His book “A Cappella Arranging” (co-written with Deke Sharon) was published in 2013.

DORA award-winning, thrice JUNO-nominated world/fusion vocalist Suba Sankaran has effortlessly combined musical worlds, performing across North America, Europe, the UK, Asia, Australia and Africa with Autorickshaw, master drummer Trichy Sankaran, FreePlay Duo and Retrocity (80s a cappella revue), to name a few. Performance highlights include performing for Peter Gabriel, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and performing with Jane Siberry, Lorraine Segato, Bobby McFerrin and the Swingles.

Suba is in demand as a choral director, arranger, educator and composer. She has composed and produced music for theatre, film, radio and dance. Highlights include collaborations with Deepa Mehta, the CBC and Stratford Festival.
