Description

Thank you for your interest in the Single-Use Item Reduction Strategy roundtable discussion on October 23rd, 2017.

Your input is important to us. As a stakeholder, we would like your feedback on potential approaches and targets under consideration for the City of Vancouver's Single-Use Item Reduction Strategy. With your help, we can explore potential approaches to reduce the distribution, use and disposal of single-use items such as disposable cups, take-out food containers, and plastic and paper shopping bags.

This is a general interest roundtable discussion. While the roundtable meetings are themed to provide an opportunity for greater depth of discussion, please feel free to sign-up for the session that works best for you and we will do our best to accomodate the multiple voices in the room. Please confirm your attendance by clicking on register above.

The input and ideas from the sessions will be used to formulate a draft Single-Use Item Reduction Strategy that is expected to be presented to City Council in early 2018.

Prior to the session, we ask that you please read our consultation paper, "Creating a Single-Use Item Reduction Strategy for Disposable Cups, Take-out Containers and Shopping Bags" a link is provided here:http://vancouver.ca/files/cov/single-use-consultation-paper-9-12-2017.pdf

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you soon.

FAQs

Can I register for more than one session?

As each roundtable discussion we will cover the same topics and discussion points, we recommend registering for one session. If you are unable to attend any of the available sessions but are still interested in participating, please send us an email at: singleuse.consultationpaper@vancouver.ca

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Sunset Community Centre is located at Main Street and East 52nd Avenue. The community centre is easily accessible by the #3 and #49 buses. There is also parking available at the community centre. Please refer to this map when planning your trip: http://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/sunset-community-centre-hours-location.aspx

I have accessibility requirements. How can I ensure I am able to participate fully?

It is important to us to accommodate everyone who wants to participate in the roundtable discussions. Please contact singleuse.consultationpaper@vancouver.ca and someone will be in contact to discuss how we can meet your needs.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. To reduce paper waste we please ask that you do not print out your ticket. We will have sign-in sheets when you arrive.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. Please refer to the Eventbrite guideline for assistance: https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/How_To/how-to-update-your-ticket-registration-information?lg=en_US

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

We ask that the individual who is registered is the person who attends. It facilitates our registration process. If you are no longer able to attend, but would like someone else to attend in your place, please contact the organisers of the event to arrange this at: singleuse.consultationpaper@vancouver.ca

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

We'd love to hear from you, please contact us at: singleuse.consultationpaper@vancouver.ca
