Description

New Student Tour - Sir George Williams Campus (Downtown)

Discover your new campus by joining one of our tours led by a Welcome Crew Mentor.

Mentors will show you around the places and spaces you’ll need to know as a student in order to be ready for your first term, and beyond. The mentor will also be happy to answer questions about any aspect of student life (inside the classroom, and out), so don’t be shy to ask.

Please note that parts of the tour take place outdoors, so dress according to the weather – and don’t forget to wear comfy shoes!

If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know by sending an email to Debbie Arless (debbie.arless@concordia.ca) prior to the tour date.

This tour leaves from room H-745 in the Henry F. Hall Building.

FAQs

How long do the tours last?

The tours last approximately an hour, occasionally up to an hour and a half.

Can I show up late to the tour?

We start the tour promptly at the assigned time, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we would be able to accommodate those who arrive late. We recommend aiming to arrive 10-15 minutes early for the tour.

Do I have to print out my Eventbrite ticket?

No! We accept and encourage electronic tickets (on a smartphone or tablet) to cut down on paper waste.

What can I expect out of taking a General Campus tour?

This tour will explore the key buildings and services on the Downtown SGW Campus so that new students become more familiar and comfortable with their new campus! The tour guides will also do their best to answer any questions you have about your upcoming studies at Concordia.

Can I bring my parent/friend/sibling on the tour?

Each student is allowed one person to accompany them, if they wish. If that is the case, please register for two (2) tickets. For the second ticket, you can copy the new student's information (student ID, program of study, etc) into the required fields. If the second ticket is for another new Concordia student, they should fill out their own information.

What do I do if a tour is full?

If a tour is full, we invite you to check the availability of alternative tour dates and register for one of them if possible. Otherwise, if you are near/on campus the day of the tour, you are more than welcome to come by the sign-in location and see if there is availability, as pre-registered students sometimes do not show up. While we do our best to accommodate those who were unable to get a ticket, it is unfortunately not guaranteed.

Who can I contact if I have any accessibility needs for the tour?

If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know by sending an email to Debbie Arless (debbie.arless@concordia.ca) prior to the tour date. Please note that escalators and stairs are used in the tour, but upon request the tour is entirely accessible by elevators.
