Sit NamaStay
Serenity, stretching and puppy sweetness. This class focuses on flexibility, core stability and self massage techniques for both you and your dog, as well as calming activities to set the ambiance.
Why do yoga with your dog?
There are 2 properties a muscle must have to keep the body of a human or dog healthy throughout their lifetime – strength and flexibility. If a muscle contracts during exercise and is not then stretched back to its elongated position it runs the risk of remaining in a shortened position which can cause muscular imbalances, and risks injuries to the surrounding tendons and joints.
Stretching helps to maintain the elasticity of muscle fibers while preventing knots and soreness (yes – dogs get sore muscles too!). The canine massage techniques you’ll learn in class will also help to relax your dogs muscles, relieve discomfort, release endorphins and develop a deeper bond between you and your dog. The class even includes self-myofascial release techniques for yourself!
Sit NamaStay also emphases balance training and core stability exercises for both you and your dog due to the tremendous injury prevention benefits – protecting both you and your dog from back, hip and joint pain.
This class creates a calming environment that lets you focus on your breathing, your body, and your best buddy. You and your dog will develop a deeper bond will focusing on relaxing and lengthening your muscles, calming your mind, self massage techniques and stability exercises to keep your mind and body healthy.
