Come out to learn, listen and sing with the Six Nations Women Singers!

About this Event

The Six Nations Women Singers is one of the most influential female Native American singing groups. The group has recorded with Robbie Robertson and performed at the presidential inauguration in 1997 and AFN General Assembly. Formed on the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, the Six Nations Women Singers are led by Sadie Buck, a member of the Tonawanda Reservation in New York who has taught Music Courses at York University and McMaster University. The group, which includes members of the Seneca, Tuscarora, Onondaga, and Cayuga Nations, focuses on the traditional and social music and dance of the Haudenosaunee (People of the Longhouse).

Open to the public, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
