Skate Sundays at Ashfield Farm

♥ ❄ Up for some winter fun with neighbors and new friends?
⛸ Everyone is invited to come over to Ashfield Farm (8594 Franktown Road) between 2pm and 4pm on Sundays for ice skating on the pond, hot chocolate, a campfire, access to trails and a chance to say hello to some of our animals. 🐈🐖
Registration is required for each week that you would like to attend.
There is no cost for Sunday Skates but donations to the Farm are welcome.
🌧 Registrants will receive a cancellation email if weather doesn't allow for skating.

Important Event Details
⚠️Anyone planning on skating will need to sign our ONLINE SKATING WAIVER before they are allowed on the ice.
⚠️Children 10 years and under are required to wear a CSA-certified hockey HELMET. We recommend that all skaters (especially new skaters) wear a CSA-certified hockey helmet.
A total of 25 people can be on the ice at any given time and the total capacity for this event is 50 people. This is a public event.
🚙On-site parking can be found behind the barns. Please follow the signs toward the back.
❌If you register but no longer plan on attending please be sure to cancel your registration (you can do so by clicking on the cancel online link at the bottom of your confirmation email) as soon as possible so that we can make your spot available to others.
COVID Safety Measures
As per Ottawa Public Health guidelines, residents are encouraged to wear a mask in all scenarios when physical distancing of two meters is not possible - both indoors and outdoors. Masks are not mandatory while skating but are highly recommended.
Please practice physical distancing at all times (keeping two meters apart) with those outside your household, including on and off the ice.
COVID-19 Self-Screening
On the day this event is scheduled to take place, each person you've registered must self-screen by completing the COVID-19 Self-Assessment questionnaire. If anyone answers YES to one of the self-assessment questions, we please ask that they do not attend this in-person event and wait to try again next week. Here are the questions:
1) Are you currently experiencing any of these symptoms that are new, worsening, and not related to other known causes or conditions you already have.
Fever and/or chills: Temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius/100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
Cough or barking cough (croup): Continuous, more than usual, making a whistling noise when breathing (not related to asthma, post-infectious reactive airways, COPD, or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Shortness of breath: Out of breath, unable to breathe deeply (not related to asthma or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Decrease or loss of taste or smell: Not related to seasonal allergies, neurological disorders, or other known causes or conditions you already have
Muscle aches/joint pain: Unusual, long-lasting (not related to getting a COVID-19 vaccine and/or flu shot in the last 48 hours, a sudden injury, fibromyalgia, or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Extreme tiredness: Unusual, fatigue, lack of energy (not related to getting a COVID-19 vaccine and/or flu shot in the last 48 hours, depression, insomnia, thyroid dysfunction, or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Sore throat: Painful or difficulty swallowing (not related to post-nasal drip, acid reflux, or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Runny or stuffy/congested nose: Not related to seasonal allergies, being outside in cold weather, or other known causes or conditions you already have
Headache: New, unusual, long-lasting (not related to getting a COVID-19 vaccine and/or flu shot in the last 48 hours, tension-type headaches, chronic migraines, or other known causes or conditions you already have)
Nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea: Not related to irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, menstrual cramps, medication side effects, or other known causes or conditions you already have
2) In the last 10 days, has someone you live with: been sick with symptoms associated with COVID-19? and/or tested positive for COVID-19 (on a rapid antigen test or PCR test)?
3) In the last 10 days, have you tested positive on a rapid antigen test or home-based self-testing kit?
4) In the last 10 days, have you received a COVID Alert exposure notification on your cell phone?
5) In the last 10 days, have you been identified as a “close contact” of someone who currently has COVID-19 (confirmed by a PCR or rapid antigen test)? If public health has advised you that you do not need to self-isolate, answer “No.”
6) In the last 14 days, have you travelled outside of Canada and been told to quarantine per the federal quarantine requirements?
