Event description
Skijoring and kick sledding is the perfect sport for the cross-country ski enthusiast with one or two dogs!

About this Event

Bring your skis and your dogs to learn skijoring techniques!

If your dog can pull you on leash down the sidewalk, you can harness that pulling power and have fun outside with your canine best friend.

Our guests from Snowmotion Winter Dog Sports Club will provide loaner harnesses, instruction for basic commands and for training at home.

To skijor, your dogs should be:

  • Over 1 year in age, and in good health. We will take pups 6 months of age and up, but you should not use the pup for pulling until it is over 12 months of age.
  • On leash at the workshop.

Location: Spruce Woods Visitor Centre (in the Kiche Manitou Campground & Day-use Area).

Please let us know if you require accessibility accommodations. Event presented in English. For more information, please call 204-827-8850 or email ParkInterpretation@gov.mb.ca.

Remember, vehicle permits are required year round in provincial parks.
