Partying and dancing aren't really my thing. Can I still come hang out?

Absolutely! Dancing is strictly opt-in. The Designated Dancers might ask you to dance from time  to time, but if you want to watch from the sidelines, have a drink and chat with your friends, that is also more than okay.

What's a Designated Dancer?

They're volunteers; you'll recognize them by their sashes.  At the top of each song, they'll ask anyone without a partner to dance, so that no one has to worry about working up the nerve to ask someone. (You don't have to say yes if you don't feel like dancing—their feelings won't be hurt!)

But I'm shy / introverted / socially anxious / neurodivergent!

The purpose of this event is to be a gentle social space in which folks like us can build community. People of all ages, genders and sexualities are invited to be a little bit brave in a space where the stakes are low. Dance, flirt, chat with someone new, and be in bed by a reasonable hour!
