Small Business: CRA Tax Information Seminar

City of Port Colborne, through its Economic Development Division, is hosting a CRA tax information seminar on Monday February 25, 2019 at 10am. An experienced Canada Revenue Agency Liaison Officer will facilitate the seminar. The Liaison Officer Service is a program developed by the Canada Revenue Agency that is designed to assist small businesses and self-employed individuals understand the Ins and Outs of the tax system. The goal is to help local businesses navigate the tax system and provides an opportunity for local businesses to interact directly with CRA. Topics discussed will include:
- Business tax deductions
- Common tax mistakes and how to avoid them,
- Books and record keeping tips and tricks,
- General bookkeeping concepts, best practices and how to use benchmarking to your advantage and
- Valuable information on the CRA’s online services.
Participant involvement is encouraged in an interactive atmosphere that allows business owners and managers to ask questions to help enhance understanding and fulfilling the necessary tax obligations. The seminar is free but space is limited, registration is required.
