Event description

Description

Join this workshop and learn the basics on planning and planting a successful veggie garden in a small space, whether you have a small garden plot or just a tiny balcony. Get ideas on growing vertically, pest management, soil management and more!

The gardening bug did not bite during Susan Wallace's teenage years when she HAD to garden. It happened many years later after getting a garden plot at Lillooet Park Community Garden and even then, the challenges almost made her give it up. Still, she persevered and the bug finally got her. She now tends to not only her own plot but that of the Edible Garden Project’s Sharing Garden where food is grown to be donated to the Harvest Project. Although growing food is her priority, she also enjoys volunteering at Park & Tilford Garden as a FOG (Friends of the Garden).

Please note that this workshop is located at Lillooet Park Community Garden, to the right hand side of the road. You can find the garden on this map.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale: $10-$20.
