Description

"What up y'all I go by the name of Faith Colins.
And this is what I gotta say about me and how I started making music.
So I've always listen to music in my young years, and I would listen to not just hip hop, but rnb and some pop. That actually help made diffrent types ofbeats and sounds in my style.
I've always got inspired by, Eminem, Jay-z, Kanye, Weezy, asap rocky, and Travis Scott.
If you can tell in my sound, I try not to sound basic and the same as other rappers in my city, I wanted to stand out from everybody else. But In a different way.
So when I heard Asap rocky's music. It hit me. Something clicked on me.
I started writing music. I was like 15, I started writing a lot of songs. But they weren't my songs, they Rocky's songs. I was tryna flow like rocky, spit like rocky, so I would mix up the lyrics and do same flow. That's how I started writing I got inspiration from asap rocky.
But then grade 11, and I heard days Before rodeo by Travis Scott..... man, it just read my mind, and It was just so relatable to me. It saves my life literally, if it wasn't for Travis Scott I wouldn't be the man I am right now.
When I heard that type of style, the vibe, the flow, The beats.... it blew my mind, it was everything I wanted in music.
And that's how I started off music.
I got inspired once again.
But this time I knew this is what I was built for.
The struggles, the hate, the discrimination, and the doubt that people with put on you. I was up all for it.
When I was the 12th grade that when I first started, dropping music. First track I dropped. Trash obviously, people would be roasting my ass in the halls and in class and it just motivated me to get better and better.
2nd song still trash, still in the same position. Getting laugh at and everything.
3rd song I dropped, it was around march or April 2016 and It was decent but still not good enough
4th song... finally started getting better and this was like October 2016. So I got outta high school and took a year off and just focus on music. Nothing but music.
And I just basically did everything and hard work for music. I'm talking about making beats, making my own style, learning about music, and just preparing myself for big moments like this. I guess my hard work is finally paying off.
And we just getting started." - Faith Collins
