Description

If you’re wondering where the musical scene is heading in the year 2017 and beyond, make sure to type "King of Punchlines" AKA “KP” into your search engine; you will not be disappointed! Perfectly packaged as a sophisticated musician, lyricist, performer, author, and entrepreneur, there are zero limits to KP’s abilities and future career as an artist! Fresh on the scene and thirsty for professional and musical development, it is clear that KP cannot be stopped! King of Punchlines (Shea Betton) was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 27, 1987; however, he was raised in the beautiful, fresh tropics of Jamaica. At about ten years of age, young KP returned to Canada with a more diverse view of the world and attention to detail. This effortlessly translated into his works. Musically, KP has skillfully explored many genres (including rap, hip hop, R&B and even reggae). His lyrics are so thought-provoking, masterfully articulated, and genuine to many people’s experiences in life, that he often arouses a strong emotional response from his audience. This has led him to be crowned as a "lyrical designer". Presently, KP is working on his second commercial project entitled, “Compressed Concepts”. As if that isn’t enough, KP is also working on a book set to release by his very own publishing Company, Betton Enterprises, later this year, also entitled "Compressed Concepts. His album and book compliment each other as they both explore themes concerning life and call for its audience to think on a deeper level. KP is definitely working his way towards being recognized as a an elite writer and musician. Some of KP’s musical accomplishments include the following: - Performing the opening act for Tech N9ne, Jadakiss, Wu-tang Clan, The Lox, Madchild, and Maino. - Performing on The Nikki Clarke show aired on Rogers TV, October, 2013. - Winning the www.hotnewhiphop.com Hot New Song Contest in 2014 for his smash hit, “Search The World" (an article was subsequently published about KP on the station’s website on November 1, 2014) - Partaking in live interviews with various radio stations such as "Radio Free Urbana" on WRFU-LP 104.5 FM in Chicago, Illinois (where his song was aired back-to-back, upon request from listeners on January 15, 2015), Fusion Radio (CSCR), University of Toronto (Toronto), INDI 101.5FM Mohawk College (Hamilton), and The Home Invasion Show CKCU 93.1 FM (Ottawa). - Performing over 100 shows throughout Canada and completing 3 tours (e.g., Pilot, Screw Face, and Connect The Dot) in major cities throughout Ontario. - Released his first commercial project named “Royalties”, in Feb, 2016. Available online for download or purchase. Despite KP’s tight work schedule, he still manages to capitalize on quality time with his fans using various social media platforms. He is a very laid back person and can often be found posting, responding, and liking items on Instagram (@KingOfPunchlines) or Twitter (@KingPunchlines). If you’re interested in obtaining any KP fan gear or wish to get updates regarding performances, tours, music release, or any other endeavours by KP, please visit his website at www.KingOfPunchlines.com.
