Event description
Meet the artist: This show will feature my Orca paintings in a series started in January 2020.

About this Event

Come celebrate the orcas of the Salish Sea and beautiful BC with the new Orca Strait series by Signe Knutson of PsychoActivist Studios.

This is an ongoing show starting on July 17th, and going through autumn. Paintings, prints, masks, scarves, bags and cards are created with the orca, iconic royalty of the Cascadian coast. For every mask sold, one is donated.

Signe Knutson, a lifelong artist who has audited classes at Alberta College of Art and Design, and studied with BC artists, Autumn Skye Morrison and Dominick Modlinski, has dedicated herself to bringing attention to the beauty of life. She evokes the mystery and power of nature in her art.

As an artistic activist her recent shows, BioIlluminati and Weed Warriors, painted in glow-in-the-dark and neon colors, are visible not only in daylight, but black-light and darkness as well.

A shift is happening in our world. We are in the midst of a Green Revolution that is necessary for the survival of life on earth, nothing less.

Signe donates part of her income to land protectors, human rights and environmental organizations.

May we be inspired by art to play our part!

Given the risk of Covid-19, the show at Pacific Arts Market is a social distancing event. Please do not touch the art or merchandise unless you intend to purchase it. Hand sanitizer and masks are available at the gallery.

Signe's work is also available in the Pacific Arts Market online store so if you are staying home, you can still enjoy the show!

We acknowledge that we are guests on the unceded territory of the T'sleil Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations.
