Event description

Description

Interested in social entrepreneurship but don't know where to start?

Social Enterprise Bootcamp is a 10 week course designed to provide hands-on experience to help you launch your social enterprise. Working in a collaborative, team environment, you'll develop all the pieces for testing the feasibility of your social enterprise idea including work-shopping your ideas for social change, conducting market research, and building financial models to determine whether or not you should proceed with a formal business plan. You will leave with a clear framework and the tools needed to evaluate and develop a sustainable social enterprise. In addition to class time, you will also receive an hour of focused, one on one coaching to discuss your particular project in greater detail and receive personalized feedback.

This is NOT a theoretical lecture. It’s a hands on, participatory course designed for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work on developing a solid plan for a sustainable, mission first, business. Whether you already work in the not for profit space, you have an idea for social change that you want to workshop, or you wish to explore what it takes to be a social entrepreneur, Social Enterprise Bootcamp can provide the skills and framework to set you on the right path.

Participants will be expected to:

  • Attend all 10 classes
  • Commit to completing all assignment pre-reading and homework (assume another 3 – 6 hours a week depending on the week)
  • Actively participating in the class (no lurking!)
  • If representing a non-profit, actively liaising with the organization to ensure their participation in the process and ensuring a fit with their mission and vision as stated in the articles of incorporation

NOTE: If we do not meet our minimum enrollment, this class will not run and a full refund will be issued.
