There are over 2 billionn active users on Facebook every month. If you don't get the chance to spend a few hours a day on a computer like other people, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't have the opportunity to join this network too. Some people join to reconnect with friends, others join to connect with families across the world, others simply join to enjoy the cute puppy videos. It's all worth it!

This Social Media for Adult Beginner's workshop is just that, It's for Adults who want to learn how to use Facebook. We will cover how to: 

  • Create a profile
  • Understand basic privacy settings 
  • How to find friends and family
  • How to grow your network
  • have Q & A

We will also touch base on info for Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.

Individuals who plan to attend must have:

  • A Smartphone or Tablet with the apps already downloaded that they want to learn
  • An email address and password
  • Bringing a laptop is optional (A laptop is ok for facebook only)

Jessica Dumas

Jessica Dumas is an Indigenous Professional Lifestyle Coach, Speaker & Facilitator with experience in executive coaching, group facilitation and training, conflict resolution and mediation, social media marketing, customer service training, program development and management, professional speaking and community leadership. She quickly gains the trust of her audience, with her warm and engaging personality and professional style. Jessica was recognized for as a finalist in the CBC’s ‘Top 40 Manitoban’s under 40’ for 2015 and the ‘2017 Future Leaders of Manitoba’.

Her volunteer contributions have gained her wide respect within Manitoba while serving two years, as Chair of the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as an executive member of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and Winnipeg Mayor’s Indigenous Advisory Circle.

She is a powerful role model, turning a family tragedy, the loss of her brother in 2005, into an opportunity to lead others to overcome challenge and hardship by developing personal strengths, vision and self-confidence and demonstrating her own story of reconciliation.
