About this Event
What if We Spark a Marketplace Revolution?
We know there are problems. Let’s work on solutions.
We have an unprecedented moment to do things differently. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought our systems and economy to a near standstill. People around the world are asking: How we can Build Back Better?
The old ways, the old models, won’t work. We have to get beyond business as usual.
Join us to learn practical applications for shaping the Social Value Marketplace.
These workshops will be pragmatic. We will learn AND create together. Our aim is to connect social enterprises, social purchasers, and social financiers and to DO things together to advance our mutual interests and cause. Our intention is to invite new people in, cross-siloes, and begin new collaborations.
Two pre-launch huddles with people spanning silos and the country surfaced three workshop themes.
In the Grand Scheme of Things They:
- Expand the Circle of Awareness and Grow the Movement
- Cultivate Collaboration Amongst Members of the Movement
- Get Down to Brass Tacks and Practical Tools
Social Value Marketplace Workshop 2
Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. PST / 1:00-2:30 p.m. EST
What If We Could Build Relationships and Bridge Gaps Between Ecosystem Players?
There are many, many, moving parts in the Social Value Marketplace economy. No two communities or situations are the same. Depending on where you stand in the ecosystem your experience, frustrations, hurdles, and possibilities will look different from others.
Each of us has many things to consider in our own ‘silos’. Maybe some of the answers reside in other parts of the ecosystem. Understanding what purchasers, enterprisers, and financiers are grappling with … together … we can come to grips with things better by crossing those boundaries. The more diversity we can invite into this workshop the better.
What if we cleared the air on what is frustrating you, what your concerns are, and the hurdles you face? What if you were in contact with people who shared those experiences and are also moving through them? What if you could better understand what your partners really have to offer and need?
How can we find, amongst us, what we most need to be freed to play our own part more effectively? What if we found ways to collaborate to advance our mutual goals?
In this workshop you will have an opportunity to air your frustrations, name your hurdles, ask for what you need, and offer what you have to bring to the table … in order to grow your place in the Marketplace Revolution.
Purchasers from municipal, provincial , federal and corporate will be there to discuss breaking down silos. Our key presenter for the workshop is Victor Beausoleil. Victor is currently on the board of directors for the Toronto Community Benefits Network, the board President of CCEDnet - The Canadian Community Economic Development Network, and a board member of REAC - the Regional Ethno- Advisory Council for Corrections Services Canada. Victor Beausoleil is currently the President + CEO of Intuit Consulting and the founder and Executive Director of SETSI– The Social Economy Through Social Inclusion Coalition. Victor has written eleven books, worked with diverse communities across Canada and has been working passionately working in the sector since the age of 25 when he Co-Founded Redemption Reintegration Services one of the largest youth-led, youth justice agencies in Canada.

Together, they will facilitate the participants in airing their frustrations around the current silos in the ecosystem, understand what barriers others are experiencing and discuss Social Inclusion within the social economy.
