Instructor: Andrea Arbour

Difficulty level: Intermediate knitting knowledge required - must be comfortable with casting on, knitting and purling

Date: February 26, March 5 and 12, 7-9:30pm (this class runs over three weeks, with homework to be completed between classes)

Max class size: 8

Course fee: $40 (plus $27.60 for materials and equipment)

Course Description:

This class will guide you through knitting ankle socks from the top-down using double-pointed needles. This is an intermediate course, so students should be familiar with basic knitting techniques including knit and purl stitches. Techniques covered include knitting in the round using DP (double-pointed) needles, creating the heel flap and turning the heel, creating the gusset, shaping the toe, and binding off with the Kitchener Stitch.

About the Instructor:

Andrea is a Graphic Designer and knitting addict. She grew up in a crafting household, and while she has always spent time drawing and painting, she didn’t attempt knitting until 2008. She has a Bachelor of Design (Honors) from NSCAD, and has put some of the design principles that she has learned to work when designing her own patterns for knitted accessories. She loves sharing her love of knitting with others!
