Software Carpentry Workshop: Data Analysis with Python, Shell and Git

U of T Coders is hosting a hands-on two-day Software Carpentry workshop covering core computing skills for research. Through short tutorials and practical exercises, attendees will learn:

  • Automating tasks with the Unix Shell

  • Version control with Git

  • Programming with Python

You don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop.

When: Octoboer 3-4, 9 am - 4pm

Where: MADLab, Gerstein Science Information Centre, 9 King's College Circle, Room B112

Cost: $25

NOTE: Refunds are available and will be issued until 11:59 pm EST on Thursday, September 26.

Requirements: Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on.

Coffee and snacks will be available but please bring your own lunch or be prepared to purchase lunch on campus.
