Solar, The Future is Bright

Join us for an informative discussion about current ‘real world’ applications and project examples of solar power and other alternative sources of energy. Installations of lighting power and heating will be presented and reviewed for their effectiveness and power and economic efficiencies.
Chief Instructor, Electrical Joint Training Committee
After a successful career in the trades for over 20 years and earning two Red Seal certifications - Motor Winder (Electric Motor Systems Technician) and Electrical – Kelly began teaching for the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) in 2003.
Kelly completed the Master Instructor/Trainer program plus three years of Advanced Studies through the IBEW’s National Training Institution (NTI) and is currently the EJTC’s Chief Instructor.
In addition to teaching the EJTC’s Entry Level Trades Training (ELTT) program for 6 years, she participates in the EVITP Curriculum Committee and is now a certified EVITP Master Instructor and serves as a subject matter expert on other training initiatives; including but not limited to PV Installations and the National Advanced Lighting Control Program.
With her experience, Kelly has become an integral member of the NETCO Blended Learning Committee.
- Attendees will be able to describe possible applications for solar lighting, power, and heating installations.
- Attendees will be able to analyze the effectiveness and efficiencies of solar lighting, power, and heating installations for future projects.
- Attendees will be able to identify the basic components of solar lighting, power, and heating systems and opportunities to integrate these systems into the built environment.
- Attendees will be able to compare the efficiencies of potential solar lighting, power, and heating installations to current utility sourced lighting, power, and heating systems.
