Description

Some said that the most powerful weapon on Earth is the human soul on fire. Setting your soul on fire means nothing but living to the fullest of your Earthly experience and following your passion. Let your soul burn and never let it turn to ash! "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”

Gabriel Fine Arts are proud to present their autumn exhibition at Old Brompton Gallery in Kensington. Soul on Fire brings together two extremely talented female artists: Elena Lobanowa from Germany and Carine Hayoz from Switzerland. Both artists are passionate creative souls whose work explores the human being and its relation to the environment. This cutting edge exhibition is a beautiful combination of pop-art portraiture with cityscape art.

Carine Hayoz is an architect and artist from Bern in Switzerland and paints acrylics on canvas with plenty of passion and joy. She uses the formal language of architecture and landscape. She creates compositions of light, colour and surface, which she artistically abstracts and assembles into a unique work. The variety of colours and shapes leaves room for own interpretations as well as for the imperfect and unpretentious. Since childhood, teachers, family members and friends have been observing her talents in drawing and painting. That's probably why she chose the creative profession of architecture. At the same time, she has repeatedly been inspired by painting and has exhibited her pictures. For the past 10 years she has been involved in several exhibitions in commercial properties, art galleries and at Parallax Art Fair London.

The acrylic paintings by Carine Hayoz show atmospheric colors, abstract shapes and lines, accents and subtle contrasts to explore the landscape and architectural elements.

More and more human figures emerge on the square canvases, which record on the landscapes and buildings.

“The human being tells a new and deep story with each gesture, with each position and its relation on the environment. I tell open-ended stories for the viewer to complete, project and even reinvent in every image. Art brings people of different religions, preferences and ideas together and reinvents us!" says Carine about her work.

Elena Lobanowa originates from the Russian family of artists Lobanowa (grandfather Alexei). She began painting at the age of fifteen and studied at the School of Art in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.

In 1978 she completed her studies and had her first solo and group exhibitions in 1982 at locations around Ukraine and Russia.

Since moving to Germany in 1993 Elena has been showcasing her art within Western Europe and America.

Further she continuously specialise in portraits of famous artists and legendary icons, such as David Bowie, Marylin Monroe, John Lennon and Audrey Hepburn.
