Based at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, Inshallah is a group of more than 100 community voices, gathering from across campus and throughout Waterloo Region, singing songs of praise and prayer, of joy and lament, from around the world. In particular, they focus on songs from the global South that speak to themes of social justice. They also sing Canadian hymns in an effort to define what is our contribution to the global song. Inshallah is a fun and welcoming space where multifaith and multicultural diversity is explored through music and singing together.
On Dec 14th, Inshallah will sing songs and invite people to sing along with them in the spirit of singing towards peace and the well-being of all people.
Inshallah song repertoire will include:
Cherokee Morning Song
Carol Um Menino (Brazilian)
Tal-Al Badru alaina and Laylat al Milad (Arabic)
esus what a wonderful child (African American carol)
Hunger Carol (Taiwanese)
as well as the ever popular traditional English carols
