Event description

Description

Our first Sourdough + Yoga Experience on the Harvest Moon was such a wonderfully relaxing day, we've decided to do it again. This time it will line up with the first day of Summer. Come spend the day learning about sourdough, reconnecting with yourself through yoga, and a nature walk on a unique 40 acre property nestled in the town of Paris

Spend the day with like-minded bakers learning about all things sourdough though an in-depth experience by using our starter/levain/mother/culture in two different ways -- for loaves of Sourdough, and for another fermentable recipe you can keep in your back pocket. We will discuss wild yeast, the benefit of fermenting flour, and how you can use and maintain your take-home starter. You will leave with new-found knowledge and confidence to continue your sourdough baking adventures at home. At the end of our workshop, each student will go home with a recipe booklet, sourdough starter and instructions to keep it alive + well, 2 loaves of sourdough to bake the following day, and another sourdough related item!

Our workshop takes place in a beautiful residential setting in small-town Paris. While our sourdough is fermenting away, we will take be stepping away to participate in a guided yoga session and nature walk -- lead by local Yoga Instructor and Accupuncturist - Wendy Zedo.

You will be going home with:
:: A recipe booklet from the day including our recipes, some extras, and detailed information on keeping your starter happy
:: 2 loaves of sourdough bread that will ferment in your fridge overnight before being baked off at any point the following day
:: A jar of starter to continue on your baking journey with
:: A sense of relaxation and connection within yourself and you new baking network

Extra Info:

Please come equipped with a yoga mat and a medium sized bowl and tea towel (for transporting your bread home in).

Class sizes are kept small, which allows for an intimiate experience with plenty of opportunity to get your questions answered and get to know your fellow bakers.
