Event Information
Description
NEW- Half-day format - 9:00 - 12:30
Sowing the Seeds for Literacy is a half-day continuing education event for early years educators, including ECE and kindergarten teachers, librarians, and others working with children birth to 6 years of age. In our 13th year, we are pleased to welcome Heather Molyneaux, Speech-Language Pathologist and Janine Ross, elementary teacher both with the St. Clair District School Board. They will be discussing the foundational skills of emergent literacy, including phonological awareness and shared reading strategies. Participants will gain practical suggestions that can be implemented with children of all ages.
Over the past twelve years, Sowing the Seeds for Literacy has explored a variety of topics in literacy, including loose parts, gender differences, numeracy, etc. This year, we are excited to go “back to basics”.
