Spark Data Lab
Tue, 16 May 2017, 9:00 AM – Wed, 17 May 2017, 5:00 PM EDT
Communitech and The Globe & Mail have teamed up with Insight Data Science to present the Spark Data Lab, a two-day workshop designed to help you lead your business with data.
Join us at Communitech’s new Data Hub in Uptown Waterloo to learn from fellow data scientists, analysts and industry experts; throughout the workshop, you’ll be able to build on your own project on a Spark cluster, while exploring:
- Resilient Distributed Datasets (RDDs)
- Transformations and Actions
- How Spark Generates Jobs, Stages, and Tasks
- Ways to Run Spark in Local Mode and Cluster Model
- Higher-level Spark API Libraries
- Machine Learning in Spark: MLlib & ML Pipeline
- Tuning Spark Jobs
This workshop is best for those familiar with Python and who have heard of distributed computing or Spark, however, prior knowledge beyond this is not required. This is a great opportunity to test drive the impact and value that Spark could create in your organization.
Please contact Alayne Hynes for additional information.
We don’t know why you’d want to cancel, however, if you do, please do so by May 9 at midnight to get a refund. It'll also allow someone else to take your spot.
We have an awesome community. And we like to show it off.
