Speed Networking for Teens (4:30pm-6:00pm)
What does your dream future career look like? Do you have burning questions that you’d want to discuss with industry experts? Or, are you still testing the waters and deciding which programs to apply to for post-secondary education?
No matter where you are on your journey, you can attend our speed networking event for teens! This is your opportunity to chat with people who are currently in the field you may be interested in.
Here’s what the session will look like:
- You’ll be put in small groups
- You’ll spend 10-15 minutes with each mentor
- Switch it up - you’ll move onto the next mentor
Who is this for?
Our Teens Learning Code meet-ups offer female-identified, trans, and non-binary youth ages 13-17 opportunities to take action on ideas that will shape our future while leveraging the power of technology.
Prerequisites: None! Our meetups are for beginners!
Our Speed Networking for Teens event will be followed by break and panel discussion: Future-Proofing Youth: Career Hacks for Tomorrow (6:30pm-7:30pm).
Technology is exciting and it’s constantly changing the workplace. And, we’re here to embrace it. While we make great strides in the advancement of technology, powerful new tools are rapidly transforming the way we work. The future labor market will look drastically different than what it is today with 42% of Canadian jobs at risk of being impacted by automation over the next two decades. So, what does this mean for our youth today? How do we prepare our youth - and ourselves - for the future?
In our panel discussion, we will explore some of the technological trends that are reshaping the future of work and their associated challenges and opportunities for youth. We’d love to hear about your experiences; help drive our conversation - and change for a more prepared future.
Can't attend the panel discussion in person? Join the conversation online! We'll be live streaming from our Facebook page.
