Team Alberta athletes that will be travelling to compete in the 2023 Arctic Winter Games in Fort McMurray are encouraged to attend.

The information will be beneficial to all athletes and you do not need to be a Team Alberta athlete to attend. Note that the seminars will be designed around athletes competing in multisport games.

Mental Skills Session

This session will introduce athletes and coaches to mental training and the impact it can have on their performance. Attendees will explore various mental skills and self-assess themselves to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for integrating such skills into their performance routines. Following this, the topic of choking under pressure will be presented including the mental and physiological factors contributing to this phenomenon.

Sport Nutrition Session

A session to teach athletes about the importance of fueling the body for optimal performance. Athletes will learn about healthy eating, energy management, hydration, what to eat prior to, during and post training or competition and lastly they will learn some tips on how to eat healthy while travelling.
