Sports Medicine and Nutrition Camp

During this camp, students will explore the fields of Nutrition and Sports medicine. They will learn to adopt a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and physical activity.

In the morning sessions, these future dietitians will learn about healthy eating habits, the food pyramid, and global foods. Students will create tasty recipes and snack combinations.

In the afternoon sessions, students will explore the roles of an athletic trainer and orthopedic surgeon and learn how to diagnose and treat common sports injuries such as sprains, strains, and athletes' foot. These future healthcare professionals will explore the famous Tommy John (arm & elbow) surgery and make models of a hand, joint, and tendon.

The students in our mixed-age group classroom are divided into:

- The interns: 4-7 years old

- The residents: 8-12 years old

Full-day and half-day (nutrition only) options are available (9 am - 12 pm)

🩺 The camp concludes with a graduation ceremony where each student receives a personalized diploma.

🩺 Every day your child will return home with materials to show you what they learned. Students will be provided with all the necessary materials for each class.

🩺 The curriculum is written by board-certified physicians and experts in child education.

🩺 Our instructors are well-trained, and they have an interest in health sciences and education. They will deliver fun, engaging and interactive content. All our instructors have provided a vulnerable sector check.

About the location

Westboro Academy is a small, independent, day school for kindergarten through Grade 8. Westboro Academy is the region's premiere school for excellence in bilingual education and provides large outdoor spaces great for learning.

We are happy to partner with Westboro Academy for this camp.

We will conduct as many activities as possible outdoors, weather permitting!

Safety procedures

Keeping in mind the safety of our children, staff and volunteers, we are following applicable public health guidelines.

All children are expected to abide by the safety rules in the camp. Every week before beginning our sessions, our team set safety expectations with children to follow throughout the camp. These include but are not limited to the following:

• Fire safety and practice
• Playtime safety rules
• Outdoor rules

If you didn't find a spot, please register for free on our waitlist and, dependent on numbers, we may open additional classes.

Food is not included. Make sure that lunch boxes are nut-free!

Your child will need unscented sunscreen and a towel/picnic blanket because some classes will be conducted outdoors.
