Event description

Description

"We have returned to guilded age levels of inequality", according to the US-based Economic Policy Institute. What are the grand dynamics that drive the accumulation and distribution of income? Political action has curbed dangerous levels of inequality in the past. Will that happen again?

Hosted by SPPG faculty member George Vegh, the Alumni Book Club will discuss the introduction to Capital in the 21st Century by Thomas Piketty and investigate these very salient questions.

We will just be discussing the introduction and Part 4 (Regulating Capital in the 21st Century) as the whole book is quite long (over 700 pages).

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 28 from 7 pm to 9 pm EST. We encourage you to attend if you haven't had a chance to read the introduction but still wish to engage in discussion.

We hope to see you out on November 28!

Cheers,

Zachary Lewsen and Alexandra Steindorff
