Location: UBC Botanical Garden, 6804 SW Marine Drive. Meet outside the Shop in the Garden.
Cost: Concession* $17, Adults $20, taxes included, plus Eventbrite fees.
*Concession = Garden Members, UNA Residents, Youth (13-17), Seniors (65+), UBC Students|Staff|Faculty. Valid ID card required.

Explore the beauty and diversity of Magnolia species at UBC Botanical Garden through a poetic and scientific lens. Join Celeste Snowber, Artist in Residence and Douglas Justice, Associate Director, Horticulture & Collections on a walk into wonder. Enjoy the blend of art and science in this creative and informative collaboration. This is our final performance with our Artist in Residence celebrating 2 years of creative collaboration.

Accessibility Notes: Please note that this is a walking performance and there is no seating. Please dress for the weather and bring footwear suitable for all terrains. We will proceed rain, snow or shine.

Parking: Free Visitor Parking for 3 hours, provided you enter your license plate.

Artist in Residence: Celeste Snowber, PhD is a dancer, poet, writer and award-winning educator who is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. She has written over 50 publications in the area of embodiment and arts-based research and creates site-specific performances in the natural world. Her books include Embodied Prayer and Embodied Inquiry: Writing, living and being through the body. She is the author of two collections of poetry, Wild Tourist and co-authored Blue Waiting published by Acorn Press in 2017. She is presently working on several poetry collections which explore connections between ecology and the arts, one being the poetry which has emerged out of out of her residency in the UBC Botanical Garden. Cancellation Policies: A $5.00 processing fee per attendee is charged if cancellation notice is less than 7 days prior to your scheduled program. There is no fee for transferring the registration to another person. Cancellations can be made by contacting garden.programs@ubc.ca. In the event that a program is cancelled by UBC Botanical Garden, we will offer the option of transferring to another program or obtaining a full refund.
