Event description
Join Toronto Community Benefits Network, Kumsa Baker & City Hall's Stephanie Nakitsas to learn how to meet with your local councillor.

About this event

Ever wanted to meet with your local politician but didn’t know where to begin or what to say?

Important decisions about issues like our city’s affordability crisis, policing, transit, and more are made at City Hall and the TDSB by locally elected representatives - like City Councillors and school board Trustees.

In the coming weeks, the City will be debating how to develop more affordable housing with inclusionary zoning. This training will begin to prepare you so you can meet with your City Councillor and demand that all new development have a high number of affordable housing units.

On Wednesday, May 19, join Toronto Community Benefits Network’s Campaigns Director Kumsa Baker and Councillor Mike Layton’s Chief of Staff Stephanie Nakitsas for this training. You'll find out why meeting with your local politician matters and how you can prepare for your meeting to make sure your voice is heard.

This is a free event. We are accepting donations when you register to help cover some costs. If you can, please chip in!
