Event description

Description

Henna dye has been used to beautify hands and feet since antiquity. In this workshop Angela, from The Henna House, will teach beginners to make the flowers, leaves and swirls you see in traditional henna art while giving you the chance to experiment on your own skin, or a trusting friend’s. Henna is an all-natural plant based dye used to color hair, skin, nails, and cloth. When applied, the henna paste is a dark brown to black and after the henna paste is removed, the stain develops from bright orange to a rich brown color in 2-3 days. Henna stains last on average for 10 days and after that, you have a fresh canvas to create a brand new design!

Allergy Alert: This workshop is not suitable for those with allergies to essential oils; including tea tree oil.

Age Restrictions: this workshop is for youth Grade 7 to Age 21

The Henna House by Angela

Angela started with a single henna cone given by a friend in 2010, as she knew Angela was a very artistic individual. Her artistic journey began in her early teens, with favorite mediums being acrylic paint and pencil. Angela took art classes from Grade 7 following through to University. With henna, Angela was able to explore and fall in love with a whole new medium and form of art. Surely, it has required thousands of hands to practice on, but her dedication and passion for this art speaks for itself.
