Description
This event begins with two days of training in the use of the ST-Sim software - including a choice between parallel introductory and advanced courses - followed by a third day of case study presentations by scientists demonstrating the latest ST-Sim tools and techniques. To close the event there will be a panel discussion regarding possible future directions for ST-Sim. Additional details regarding the program for all three days can be found here.
Introductory Course Option (08:30-16:30, November 28-29, 2017)
This two-day introductory course provides a foundation for developing and running state-and-transition simulation models of landscape change using the ST-Sim software.
Advanced Course Option (08:30-16:30, November 28-29, 2017)
This two-day course provides a more in-depth look at various features and options for developing and running state-and-transition simulation models of landscape change using the ST-Sim software.
User Group Meeting (08:30-14:00, November 30, 2017)
The last day will begin with invited presentations from a range of advanced users of ST-Sim, followed by an open panel discussion regarding future directions for ST-Sim. The final day will wrap up with a complimentary catered lunch.
Participant Requirements
Participants are expected to bring their own computer (running 64-bit Windows 7 or higher) for the training sessions – if this is not possible, please contact us to make alternate arrangements. Participants are also responsible for the cost of their accommodation, meals and travel. A special rate of US$109 (single) has been negotiated at the Hilton Fort Collins (1/2 mile from conference venue) for reservations on or before October 28th - details for booking to be provided on registration. During the course and seminar, snacks and lunch will be provided.
Cost
For the 2 day training courses: early registration (to October 28th) is US$775; regular registration (after October 28th) is US$875. Additional $50 discount for all registrations paid on or before September 30th.
Students are eligible for a 50% discount from the full registration fee, subject to availability.
Attendance is free for the third day user group meeting. Registration is required, however.
Cancellation Policy
Fees are refundable (minus a $25 service charge) if cancelled on or before October 29th. After October 29th, fees are not refundable.
