Event description

Description

Did you know that people over the age of 60 in Greater Victoria contributed an estimated 6,050,854 volunteer hours in 2016?

While we know the number of volunteers hours, non profit organizations in Greater Victoria had other questions about volunteers in their 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's and they turned to Volunteer Victoria for answers.

We realized that we needed more local information so we worked with an Advisory Group of volunteers and spent the last year surveying, talking to, and interviewing more than 500 volunteers and volunteer coordinators.

Volunteer Victoria is pleased to invite you to come and find out more about the Stage Based Volunteering Project, a new report about local volunteers over the age of 50 and their volunteering needs.

This is not a formal presentation, but will be informative. Be a part of good conversations, great new information, and an opportunity to meet with people who care about volunteers and volunteerism.

There is no cost to attend. We do ask that you pre-register so we know how many people to expect.

Volunteer Victoria would like to thank the Stage Based Volunteering Project Funders:

  • The Government of Canada New Horizons for Seniors Program
  • United Way of Greater Victotria
  • Vancouver Foundation
