Event description

Description

This learning lab is designed as an opportunity to develop savvy and skills in stakeholder engagement. The design reflects a belief in the importance of participatory and experiential learning.

The lab will draw on James Pratt’s 22 years of experience as a stakeholder engagement consultant. Exercises will include stakeholder mapping and engagement strategies, with plenty of opportunity for Q&A and discussion.

Specific objectives are to:

  1. Explore participant experiences with stakeholder engagement

  2. Discuss basic stakeholder engagement tips

  3. Practice mapping stakeholders and designing engagement processes

  4. Have fun learning - in a supportive, positive environment!

About the Facilitator:

In addition to operating a successful consulting practice over the past 22 years, James Pratt has completed an MA in Community and Regional Planning (University of British Columbia) and a BA in Communications (Simon Fraser University).  He is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of BC, and has a long record of voluntary service with non-profit organizations and community based initiatives.
