About the Performers

The Chaisson Trio

Showcasing the best of their roots, this trio includes Kevin Chaisson, Louise Chaisson MacKinnon, and Rannie MacLellan, who is from Margaree, Cape Breton, and now calls P.E.I. home.

They will be bringing a blend of Scottish fiddle, vocals, guitar and piano to the stage with Celtic music and song.

The Chaisson family is widely accredited with spearheading the movement to keep traditional fiddling alive in Prince Edward Island and are the creators of the famous Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival! You want to miss this lively trio!

Gary Chipman

Gary Chipman is a well known Island musician having started playing on the Don Messer Live Shows at 8 years of age after his Dad taught him to play the fiddle and he hasn't looked back since! The fiddle has been his main instrument however, he is also a very accomplished guitar player and vocalist. Gary has played the Don Messer style of fiddling since a young boy and has toured extensively with musicians such as Anna McGoldrick, Stompin' Tom Connors and others. He also recently toured a Don Messer Tribute Show in Ontario and New Brunswick. Gary's ceilidh performance will feature the Don Messer style of fiddling with the old favorites like St. Anne's Reel and Big John MacNeill, he will sing a few songs, tell some of his signature jokes and maybe even a few stories to take us on a trip down memory lane.

Jordan Chowen

Jordan is a champion PEI step dancer who owns his own PEI dance school! Jordan has toured with the Don Messer Tribute Show as well as is an avid bagpiper having just won 1st place in the North American Bagpipe competition!
