Description

POV 3rd Street and WorkInCulture present a weekend of Workshops to support emerging content creators in developing their business.

STARTING A CREATIVE BUSINESS: A Workshop for Aspiring Content Creators
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2018 | 10am - 5pm, $5*

Looking to start your own video-based production company but not sure where to start? Understanding your creative business starts with understanding yourself. Through reflective, interactive activities led by Snjezana Pruginic, participants in this one-day workshop step into the business mind frame to develop and define their business idea and leave with the basic tools to get started on constructing a business plan.

This workshop will also feature a panel with industry professionals who will share their experiences and answer participant questions.

INDUSTRY PANEL:

  • Rey Mendoza, Co-Founder and Executive Producer, Mad Ruk

  • Franca Piacente, SVP, Director of Production Services, Leo Burnett Canada

  • Andre Williamson, Content Producer

* If cost is a barrier, please contact loveleen@pov3rdstreet.org to reserve a free spot.

This workshop has been specifically created to foster and encourage more diversity within the industry. This workshop is open to folks who are defined as facing barriers to employment as defined by Employment Ontario* as well as youth who face significant financial barriers.

* "Youth (18 - 30) who may be racialized, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, or queer (LGBTTQ), Indigenous, recent immigrants, or living with disabilities and mental health issues."
