At this panel, local startup founders will be sharing the lessons that they have learned along their entrepreneurship journey and tips and tricks for the early stage entrepreneur. All of the panellists have been on the startup path for a while and have likely faced many of the same struggles as you. This is a great chance to connect with local entrepreneurs and ask them your startup questions.
Peter Matejcek | CEO of INhouse Video
Peter Matejcek (email@example.com) is a high energy and passionate digital media expert who is currently Managing Director of Hustream.com and Founder of INhousevideo.com. His goal has always been to help businesses succeed with video. Peter is the essence of what great video should be- passionate, authentic, and an engaging storyteller.
For the past 6 years while at the helm for HuStream, Peter has been at the heart of the development of an innovative interactive video technology and guided production of award winning videos. Peter has worked with many organizations ranging from the smallest of startups to some of the world’s largest brands like Microsoft, Intel, Lenovo, IBM and Sage.
Tasha Da Silva | Founder and Co-CEO of Infuse IT
Tasha Da Silva is the Founder and co-CEO of Infuse I.T. Inc, a company dedicated to providing retail stores and restaurants throughout the Okanagan with management software for Inventory & Sales. Tasha has extensive management experience, has become familiar with various software systems & platforms throughout her professional career and is an Expert certified Partner for LightSpeed POS. She is excited to be part of the vibrant Tech Community here in the Okanagan and looks forward to contributing to a growing tech sector.
Derek Lownsbrough | Founder of Walleye Networks
Derek is a seasoned software engineer and entrepreneur with a solid track record of creating success for companies, employees, and investors. He most recently co-founded Vineyard Networks, acquired by Procera Networks in 2013. After which, he led Procera’s global engineering team of 90 engineers across two continents. Prior to that he was part of the founding engineering team at Kelowna’s Workfire Technologies, acquired by Packeteer for $120 million in 2000. His integrity, quiet confidence, desire to help others, and keen problem solving ability have helped him build strong and lasting relationships with customers, partners, vendors, and employees. He and two long-time co-workers have recently started a new venture, Walleye Networks, focussed on helping families navigate the power and perils of today’s always connected world.
Moderator: Ted Gross
He is a graduate of Royal Roads University’s Commerce program and a graduate of Okanagan College. His entrepreneurial claim to fame is rebuilding, systemizing and scaling a company in the wholesale distribution industry. He is passionate about personal accountability, hard work and innovation. Ted specializes in business systems, minimizing risks, sales, marketing, channel development, profitable growth, turn-arounds, negotiating, leveraging talents, and validating new ventures. Ted loves to volunteer his time in the community and hang out with his young family and their two dogs.
