About the Project

stay is the collection of narratives, photographs, videos, and exhibits that were created as part of the Man-Up Against Suicide Project. We collected photos and narratives from 80 Canadian men and women. In sharing perspectives about male suicide, this project aims to de-stigmatize men's mental illness and lobby targeted male suicide prevention programs. Man-Up Against Suicide has been displayed in the UK and across Canada with 12 exhibitions to date.

Man-Up Against Suicide is made possible thanks to generous support from the Movember Foundation, and is based at the University of British Columbia's Men's Health Research program.

Organized by

Men’s Health Research at the University of British Columbia's School of Nursing is an inter-disciplinary network of projects, research, and interventions related to men's physical and mental health.
