Event description
Learn about the science of things that spin and how centrifugal forces can be used to separate mixtures! For grades 4-8.

About this event

We will test out a variety of things that spin and make our own version of a very simple centrifuge that we can use to separate mixtures into their components! We'll also talk about how simple devices like this that don't use electricity can be used for field research or even some kinds of medical testing.

Registration is $10. A materials kit will be provided for pickup at the Resource Library of your choice (Bathurst Clark, Civic Centre, or Pierre Berton). Registrants will be contacted to pick up their materials kit after they have registered.

This program will be hosted on Zoom. Priority will be given to confirmed VPL members.

August 16, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Registration begins July 19
