The University of Toronto’s SSSCR chapter is organizing a day-long conference encompassing the many advancements towards the improvement of medicine using stem cells. It will imbue the discoveries and progress in stem cell research with connections to ethics and policies, innovation and technology, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to examine the future of the field. Researchers from a number of hospitals and institutions in Toronto will be invited to present their current work to an expected audience of over 200 on the topic of stem cells and their potential to revolutionize the next generation of medicine.
Furthermore, speakers will have the opportunity to conduct smaller-scale discussions, examining questions and ideas regarding their specialities within the field. Graduate students will also be invited to present their research. Finally, there will be a panel discussion towards the end of the day looking at leading issues surrounding stem cells in medicine.
This conference will provide an opportunity for both undergraduates and high school students to gain insightful information regarding research and policy, to connect with researchers and professionals, and to discover the promising field of stem cells and regenerative medicine.
