Alberta 2020 and Beyond: What’s Next?
Alberta’s ailing oil and gas industry and mounting provincial debt has prompted many to wonder: what’s next for our province? Alberta Together was formed in spring 2017 to bring evidence-based research and moderate, centrist principles, such as fiscal responsibility, into our increasingly polarized and divisive political discussions.
What’s clearly needed in our province today is a long-term plan that realistically addresses our fiscal situation. Like former Alberta premier Peter Lougheed’s ground-breaking Blueprint for the 1970s that was released in 1967, Alberta Together argues that a similar sweeping and visionary political document must be drafted for the next decade and beyond. A plan that honestly examines our current taxation policies, infrastructure needs and budget commitments, including health care spending. A plan that closely listens to experts, business leaders and ordinary Albertans about the road ahead. A plan that brings Albertans together, working in common purpose.

We’re a not-for-profit organization that puts public service, pragmatic centrist principles and province-building at the top of our agenda. Formed in the spring of 2017, Alberta Together is dedicated to evidence-based political research, advocacy and training, particularly the next generation of our province’s leaders.
