Stigma Reduction Training
Event Information
About this event
This training is part one of a series of workshops geared towards enhancing the skills of LUSH staff and volunteers in supporting our community in handling the ongoing opioid crisis.
There is no cost for participants.
About the Training:
The stigmatization of people living with mental illness including addiction is all too common in Canada. People with lived experiences of mental illness including addiction often report feeling devalued, dismissed and dehumanized by many. This course was developed to examine stigmatizing attitudes and behaviours through various instructional activities.
Location: LUSH Office
Date: January 27
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm
** This training is being facilitated by AVI Health and Community Services - Comox Valley through funding from the Community Action Team **
Due to increasing cases of COVID, individuals will need to show proof of vaccination and masks will need to be worn throughout the entire event.
