Event description

Description

"I have a feeling that my boat has struck
Down there in the depths against a great thing
And nothing happens!
Nothing… silence…waves…Nothing happens?
Or has everything happened
And we are standing now quietly in the new life? ---Oceans, Juan Ramon Jimenez (tr Robert Bly)

Join the Ottawa Poetry Bards for an evening designed to stir, to quicken, to beckon you toward knowing what your boat may be striking now. Immerse yourself in the candle-lit space of St. Luke's sanctuary, take in music, poems chosen and spoken by the Bards. If you feel moved, enter the Labyrinth with a question, or a musing... and take each step as if new.

The Bards donate their time in support of Hospice at May Court and St. Luke's Anglican Church. There will be poem decks on hand with the theme of Stirrings and Awakenings. Poem decks from past events will also be available, for you to create a bundle of themed decks.

Take the step. Come. Meet yourself now.
