Event description

Description

Join local historian John Berham for a fascinating historical walking tour of Toronto's historical Stockyards!
Did you know Toronto had the second largest stockyards, second only to to Chicago?
Participants will gather at Shacklands Brewing where John will give a brief introduction before participants head out to visit various noteworthy locations where they will learn about the history of the meatpacking and manufacturing industries and the personalities behind them, thier impact on both the local community and country, and their not so insignificant roles in both World Wars. Finally, the tour will end up back at the Shack where all tour participants will receive a refreshing glass of beer!
The tour will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and all participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather (rain or shine) and bring a full water bottle.
