Event description

Description

The Stop FASD Run (Stop Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Run) is a 5k family fun run/walk that was created to raise awareness and funding to help the children born with fetal alcohol syndrome as well as the 90% of adoptive families raising them. Raising awareness is key to stopping the permanent life changing development delays in our unborn and growing babies worldwide. FASD does not have to happen and that makes it even more devastating for those raising children that would otherwise be perfectly healthy and able to live healthy balanced lives. As of today there is no legal consequences for the mother’s who choose to drink alcohol during pregnancy. Before the choice is made it is our hope to raise understanding of the severity that alcohol causes unreversable brain damage to the unborn child. During our runs we will be celebrating the unsung heroes in these children who struggle day to day as they learn to navigate through a society where people are not yet aware of the effects FASD has on their young brains. If there is anyway you feel lead to step into our arena with your gifts and talents please reach out, we are all about the VILLAGE! 587-832-3435
