Description

We have all stared at the blank page when starting to write – whether it’s an abstract, paper, report or grant – and it can feel daunting and hard to get started. We feel like we need a big chunk of time, or we need to have all the conditions just right (if you are anything like me - quiet, a cup of tea, and tidy desk) or we are just feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.

And, what happens when we don’t get started? We lose the momentum of our greatest ideas. We end up working closer to deadlines and under pressure, which may or may not be our best work. Or worse, if there’s no deadline (for e.g. when you are writing a paper), we end up putting it off and suddenly we’ve been scooped or the data has lost its vitality and less people are interested in what we are working on...

During more than 10 years developing and implementing grants, I have learned that writing is a process. It’s been a driving interest of mine to understand more about the writing process and our psychology around writing to help us improve our writing skills and make it easier. Now, I have come to understand more about the writing process, how it can work for us, our own roadblocks and how to overcome them, and we definitely struggle less.

In this workshop, you are going to about the writing process and how to design your own unique writing process to leverage your strengths and identify opportunities for growth. You will also learn how to distill your message, structure your ideas, refine and share your writing and the importance of rest in the writing process.

Pls join me at this workshop to learn how to stop staring at the blank page, for good.
