Stop the Bleed is an American College of Surgeons initiative to train bystanders on the basics of controlling life-threatening bleeding.

How to get there

About this event

  • Public, free, 1 hour training session that will provide knowledge and experience in two critical modalities: (1) tourniquet application and the use of (2) pressure to stop bleeding
  • The course will run on the 3rd Tuesday of every month (contingent on number of registrants)
  • Limited class size: 20 participants per course
  • A mask will be provided and be required to be worn at all times in the hospital
  • Physical distancing protocols will be in place throughout the course
  • The course is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm (doors will open at 5:45pm)
  • Course location is at Victoria Hospital (800 Commissioners Rd E., London ON) in room B2-119 (Sumner Auditorium)
  • Paid parking is available onsite.
  • The team also offers on-site training for local businesses or organizations (please reach out to trauma@lhsc.on.ca for more details).
