Overview
Stories of Excellence is a virtual space for Black parents to celebrate their children, uplift one another, and hear stories of Black excellence in our schools.
Early Childhood Development Inititative is a community-based organization grounded in African values with programs and services that are focused on empowering communities and strengthening family capacity.
The Student Family Advocate program provides culturally relevant guidance and advocacy for Black families navigating challenges in the public school system, with a focus on early intervention and long-term success.
Before we close out the year, we would love to come together as a community to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of our children.
What to expect:
- A short introduction of ECDI and its SFA program
- Virtual sharing circle where everyone can share using different mediums
- A supportive space led by and for Black families
- A dinner voucher
Who should attend:
Black parents and caregivers of children in Ontario’s public schools. Feel free to bring materials you feel comfortable sharing with the group.
