Event description
STORY AND CAST DESIGN: an improv workshop with Jason Geary (AUS)

About this Event

WORKSHOP: STORY AND CAST DESIGN

In this workshop, participants explore the core principles of storytelling as defined by Robert McKee. These principles are designed for screen writers but have particular usefulness for the improvisor as storyteller. We look at areas such as; How do we identify a protagonist in our improvised stories? How can we best support the protagonist after this discovery? How can we design a cast around the protagonist that gives us the best change of playing a complex story? How do we build a story so our protagonist is changed by the choices they make. This workshop focuses on narrative, character creation, and deepening the complexity of improvised characters.
