Event description

Description

As 2017 draws to a close, we look forward in anticipation of all the adventures that lie in front of us. It truly is a magical time of year, and we want to honour this season of change by inviting you to our yearly Story Visioning workshop on Sunday, January 7th, 2018.

You can register here or email us if you have any questions. The cost of the day - $75 - covers everything from baked goods and coffee, a delicious lunch, wine and chocolate in the afternoon, and supplies to craft your vision board.

What is a Story Vision: We call our process Story Visioning because it’s all about creating the story we want to live for the coming year. A Story Vision captures how we want to feel (versus what we want to achieve.) During our workshop, we will dive in deep to better understand where we are each coming from and where we want to go. We use images and words to craft our story for the year and at the end of the day we come together to share our stories with the group. We each become our own story tellers, yet that's only part of it. For us, the magic of the day lies in our ability to help others give voice to their dreams, to become empowering listeners, and to hold each other up. Most importantly, it’s about celebration – celebrating our stories as a community of women by recognizing what’s possible when we give weight to our wishes.

Creating Space: We understand the logistics of carving out an entire kid-free day, yet we feel it is integral to this experience. We want you to be fully present and to focus on yourself, and so we request that this be an adult-only event and that you attend for the full day. Of course, you are more than welcome to arrange with your partner to pop by for feedings but we do ask that everyone coming commit to the full day as we will be doing a lot of group work and a special finale that weaves our stories together.

What to Bring: We ask that each guest bring an item from home to add to our alter for the day. This object should be something you cherish with a story attached that you would like to share with the group.

Visual Inspiration: Over the next few months, start collecting your favorite magazines, clippings, postcards, images and other materials that you would like to bring or share. We will supply you with a poster board and some materials, including glue, scissors and our collection of magazines, but we know from last year that everyone loved having some personal items from home to add to their boards. The more magazines, the merrier!

What You’ll Eat: Baked goods, fruit, coffee and tea for breakfast. A vegetarian lunch (please let us know if you have dairy, gluten or other allergies, we will adjust the menu accordingly) Chocolate and wine in the late afternoon.

How to Dress: Cozy and comfortable - we want you to feel at home. We’ll be moving around a lot.

Directions: Theo’s home is in East Vancouver, just off Commercial Drive near Hastings on Georgia Street at Salsbury. If taking public transit, the number 20 bus will drop you off a block in a half away (the 14, 16, 22 and 99 are options, too). There is lots of free street parking on her block.

We look forward to crafting our 2018 stories with you!

Warmly
Theo & Megan
